The Lady revolver is all gold plated but for the black trigger and hammer, the Lord pistol has a gold plated frame and black barrel, trigger and hammer.
The bores are bright with sharp rifling and no visible erosion; there is light folwing that we could not readily remove, a thorough cleaning should reveal bright surfaces.
The Lady pistol has spots of white freckling, perhaps tarnish from storage, it shows a small amount of handling rub wear; the lower screw head has tooling, the markings are clear, rating in Fine condition. The Lord revolver has a few scuffs and light scrapes, the screw heads are sharp, some barrel markings are partially struck, rating in Excellent condition.
The actions function correctly. To load, the hammer is put to half-cock, the barrel swings to the left in the Thuer fashion. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories:
Included is a dark walnut display case, with a red interior, which is formed to display the two revolvers in a “69” pattern. The exterior has scrapes and compression marks, there are no cracks, it rates in Very Good condition.
This is a Colt Lord & Lady Derringer set with two consecutively numbered .22 Short pistols in their factory walnut display case. They both have nice bores and a unique Thuer twist-open barrels. In their condition, they may temp a collector that hasn’t found a high enough condition set to find worthy, this pair should do well displayed in the man cave or office, but to save a bit of trouble with the significant other, it could always be a nice anniversary present.
