The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

(DN02): The stocks are matte finished extra burl walnut; the wood to metal fit is absolutely crisp. The Game configuration forend has fine checkering on the lower flanks. The butt stock has a strait English-style wrist, with flank checkering that meets on the underside of the wrist. The forend has a scuff on the right flanks and some small compression marks on the underside; most of the marks go unnoticed until close inspection and could probably be removed by a skilled woodworker. The butt stock has infrequent tiny marks present, please see our pictures. The stocks are free from chip losses and cracks. Drop at comb is 1 3/8”, drop at heel is 1 31/32”, the butt stock is slightly cast-off for right handed shooters. The LOP measures 14 ¼” from the front of the gold-plated trigger to the back of the stock; the back of the stock is very finely checkered, showing only a few small areas of faint compression, which blends in with the grain of the wood. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blued & Engraved Satin Nickel, with Gold Plated Trigger & Gold Inlay

Finish Originality: The finish on both shotguns is original.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: (DN01): This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few extremely light scuffs on the barrel set, which go unnoticed until close inspection; the left side of the forend catch has a few tiny spots of patina. The top lever has a small patch of erosion. The left side of the receiver has some scuffing on the topless woman which look to have been incurred during storage. The screw heads are sharp and appear to be un-turned. The markings and engraving details are extremely crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

(DN02): This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some faint thinning on the barrel set rib. There are tiny freckles of oxidation on the inside of the forend release lever’s forward cupped area, with tiny scuffs. The screw heads are sharp and appear to be un-turned. The markings and engraving details are extremely crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The shotguns feature single selective triggers and ejectors. The actions close up with absolute precision with crisp trigger pulls. The 28 gauge shotgun weighs 6lbs 2oz, the .410 gauge shotgun weighs 5lbs 14oz. We have not fired these shotguns. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a brown pebbled ABS plastic coated Negrini hard case with three combination locks and “Perazzi” in circle on the outside, in oval. The exterior shows a few scrape and compression marks, but no major damages. The inside is segmented for storage of both shotguns, which come packaged in their green felt and gray fabric storage cloths. The interior is marked “Perazzi” multiple times with nice light and dark brown patterns. The interior has two Perazzi patches, held on with double sided tape, there is a Perazzi oval sticker and two Certificate of Warranty stickers, each with the serial number of the shotguns. A red Perazzi pouch, red-handled Perazzi hex wrench, care instructions for the hard case, two ‘care instruction’ orange stickers, anti-corrosion paper, individual care instruction booklets for each shotgun (with hand-written dimensions inside) and a factory congratulatory letter are included; the hard case is in Fine condition, the paperwork and other accessories are in Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: It is hard to tell what is more incredible about this set of sequential serial numbered shotgun set; the fact that the engraving is just about the most superb that we have come across, or that the engravers were able to duplicate the work with such precision! The shotguns have gold inlaid “3” and “4” (on the 28 and .410 gauge, respectively) designations as part of a set. All serial numbers on each shotgun match up, the fit and finish of both items is unparalleled and a full array of Perazzi paperwork and goodies are included, along with a hard takedown case which houses both items. The extra burl walnut stocks have beautiful grain and fit to the metal. This set of shotguns is sure to attract attention from the most discerning collector, looking to have been used very infrequently, if at all, outside of factory testing. If you are a fan of Perazzi, you might as well go right up to the top and get the Extra Super engraved option; once you’re there, you might as well get two! Detailed engraving of this complexity is only found on a few high end shotguns; the engravers looked to have enjoyed applying the ladies to the surfaces, one can only wonder if they were 'close friends'? In any case we would like say 'thanks for the mammaries! This shotgun set will not be forgotten. Please see our pictures and good luck.
