Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Remington Arms Co, Inc. -- Model 241 in the desirable 22 short caliber-$redux

.22 S (Model 241 SA), 24 in. barrel, that replaced the Browning designed Model 24. There is reference to the Browning patents stamped on top of the barrel. Open sights, takedown (button located on left side of receiver), blue 15 rounds in.22 Short cal. Has tube mag. in buttstock, non-checkered walnut stock and forearm. Ser. # 8589 stamped on left side of receiver. This is an earlier Speedmaster and does not have the logo or Speedmaster on the rifle. As/per usual I'll be honest and grade this rifle at 50-60%+/-. See pics. Someone has lacquered over the original finish and it shows. Not a bad job and with a little elbow grease this could be remedied. Bluing appears to be original and at maybe 50-60%. The lockworks and action appear real tight and function well. It does shoot. I have fired this rifle. See pics. I would say that as is this rifle is a shooter and a good one. Now if you want to clean it up and re-do the stock re-blue the steel it COULD be a collector. I would do that 'cause that's what I like to do but unfortunately I don't have the time. Fjestad's BB puts this rifle at about $350 and add 20% for the 22 short caliber but I'm going to start this rifle out at $310 ($10 for the ad cost) and see where it goes. Someone may get a pretty good shooter here. Please add $45 for ship/ins. Sorry no sales to Kalifornia. Maybe someday. Take care and thanks for looking. Capt. John I looked real hard at the rifle and there are screw driver marks on 3 of the screws. They aren't much but they are there. There's also some dings in the metal just forward of the takedown button where it must've bounced around like in the back of a pickup. I'll add this stuff to the auction. Thanks for the heads up. I mean that. Lowered the price 1-28 on account of the dings/nicks that a GunAuction member found. Capt. John
