The reticle is a full duplex. The outside of the scope shows light marks in front of the forward ring, marks on the adjustment screw caps and a small mark on the front of the power ring. The reticle is a full duplex. The lenses are clear and free of distortion. The power ring turns freely. The scope is in about Excellent condition. There is no provision for iron sights.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a black checkered synthetic with pistol grip, a vented brown rubber recoil pad marked “Uncle Mike’s” and sling swivel studs mounted at the butt and forend. There are light marks on the top edge of the bolt release and scratches and the top rear of the receiver is disfigured under the finish from material removed by grinding. The magazine floorplate shows light handling marks and the trigger guard shows handling marks on the edges. The screw heads are disfigured and the screw at the front of the magazine tang may not be serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition as refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The scope is provided and installed.

Our Assessment: The .358 Win. is a .35 caliber rifle cartridge based on a necked up .308 Win. created by Winchester in 1955. The relationship in performance between the .358 Win and the .35 Whelen is similar to that between the .308 Win and the .30-06 The .358 Win. It created a round more powerful than the .35 Remington and .348 Winchester. This rifle can be used with lighter .357 caliber pistol bullets for plinking and can be loaded with up to 250 grain bullets for animals up to the size of elk and moose. Its larger caliber is excellent in the woods where the heavier bullets do not deflect as easily. This customized rifle is built on a strong Mauser action which started its life out as a Mexican Model 1912 rifle, sold to Mexico, Chile and Columbia. It has comes with a light synthetic stock and 3x9 variable scope to make your next hunt a success.

CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle can be transferred/sold in California.
