Our Assessment: The .358 Win. is a .35 caliber rifle cartridge based on a necked up .308 Win. created by Winchester in 1955. The relationship in performance between the .358 Win and the .35 Whelen is similar to that between the .308 Win and the .30-06 The .358 Win. It created a round more powerful than the .35 Remington and .348 Winchester. This rifle can be used with lighter .357 caliber pistol bullets for plinking and can be loaded with up to 250 grain bullets for animals up to the size of elk and moose. Its larger caliber is excellent in the woods where the heavier bullets do not deflect as easily. This customized rifle is built on a strong Mauser action which started its life out as a Mexican Model 1912 rifle, sold to Mexico, Chile and Columbia. It has comes with a light synthetic stock and 3x9 variable scope to make your next hunt a success.
