Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one piece checkered reddish brown plastic with a smooth diamond shape molded into the middle of the checkering. Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. The front edges of the barrel, slide and frame show thinning, as do the sides of the trigger guard. The barrel, top of the slide, right side of the slide and the bottom of the trigger guard show a few light handling marks. The top of the front sight shows surface loss and the top rear edge is disfigured. The serrations on the takedown knob and magazine release are sharp. The screw next to the magazine floorplate is slightly distressed. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with one blued 10-round magazine with a plastic follower. It is marked “Hi-Standard” on the floorplate and shows very light wear on the body. It is about in overall Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: High-Standard first designed this pistol as a striker fired “plinker” and later models were even stamped with this name. However, many shooters have found this pistol to be very accurate. The one piece grip that fits around the trigger guard and the serrated takedown knob are certainly unique. This pistol has been kept in great condition and certainly has a lot of “plinking” left in it. The pistol, with its original finish and Fine condition, and with the exception of its grip, is a nice find for the Hi-Standard collector.
