Our Assessment: This Russian SKS-45 rifle was designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov in 1943 and entered the service in 1945. Although it was replaced by the AK47 in Russia in the 1950s, it continued to be manufactured in other countries, where in China it became the Type 56. Although some think of the SKS as an assault rifle, it doesn’t have a removable magazine and never had a selector switch for fully automatic firing. This rifle is in Fine condition, with a great bore and a really nice stock and comes with a cleaning rod and sling. This rifle will make a nice deer rifle (in those states that allow 10 round magazines) and is also good for informal target practice and plinking. Surplus 7.62x39 is still relatively inexpensive and plentiful, so you can shoot it practically all day with minimal cost.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle can be transferred / sold in California.
