Model: Citori GTI
Year of Manufacture: 1990
Caliber: 12 Ga. 2 ¾”
Action Type: Over/Under Break Action with Single Selective Trigger
Markings: "GTI" and "BROWNING" are emblazoned on the receiver flats and the underside. The serial number is under the lever. The left side of the barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTRAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN". The right side of the barrels are marked "INVECTOR - PLUS CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA 2 3/4" - 30"."
Barrel Length: 30"
Choke: Invector Plus Choke System (None Provided)
Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a bead at the muzzle and a mid-rib bead. There is a full length rib that has a dent behind the rear bead and another in the forearm-most vent. The rib is a bit wavy, but this is not visible when properly sighted.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a replaced oil finished piece, showing much less wear than the balance of the gun and the forearm. There are a few marks in the stock and sharp checkering. The stock rates in about Fine overall condition. The forearm is the original piece, showing much wear to the checkering and marking throughout. This has seen a lot of handling and has darkened as a result. The rear most hardware screw is broken, probably explaining why the forearm was not changed when the stock was. The forearm rates in about Good condition. The LOP measures 14 1/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the hard rubber recoil pad.
Type of Finish: Blue with Gold Accents
Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bore is a dirty, but free of erosion. The forcing cones have been lengthened.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 80% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows much thinning from handling and use. This was a well used Sporting Clays gun for the previous owner and as a result the gun shows thinning on the underside of the frame and at the edges form general use and carry. The edges of the rib have a few dings and as mentioned there are a few dents in the vents of the rib. The muzzle has some thinning and marking. The screw heads are generally serviceable, though the rear most forearm screw is broken. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions, but is very loose. We would worry about the gun opening with hot loads, but this is a problem that Browning would be able to fix. We have not fired this shotgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None, and NO chokes are provided.
Our Assessment: Folks love the GTI and for good reason. The rib is a wide Broadway style rib, the barrels are ported and choked and the gun is a 30" shotgun - which seems to be nearly impossible to find anymore. The gun should probably go back to Browning to have the action tightened up a bit, but everything else you would want is in this shotgun already.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This shotgun can be transferred in California.
