NO RESERVE!! Here's an Argentine Model 1891 Mauser Carbine that was manufactured under contract by Loewe in Berlin, Germany. This handy weapon wears a 17.6" barrel and chambers the 7.65x53mm Argentine Mauser cartridge. It has the Argentine crest on the receiver ring and model marking along the left receiver rail. It has a single column 5-shot magazine, a small rear ladder sight graduated to 1400-meters, and an inverted-V front sight protected by heavy ears that extend up from the forend cap. The stock is full length "Mannlicher style" with straight grip. Overall condition is very good. All serial numbered parts are matching with the exception of the rear sight. There are NO import markings. The blue finish rates about 80% overall with some handling wear and patina. The stock is in good condition with handling marks including a long scratch (not a crack) along the right side of the wrist. There is also a large arsenal repair to the toe of the butt and the original saddle sling loop is mounted along the underside of the stock. The mechanics appear to be in good working order and the bore rates very good with some wear but still bright with strong rifling. Manufactured between 1893-1895, this carbine can be dated by its features. It has the improved extractor and magazine locking screw (1893 improvements) along with the ball shaped bolt handle (a pear shaped bolt handle introduced in 1895). All Ludwig Loewe marked Model 1891's are antiques since the company merged with another to become DWM in 1896.
