The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action function correctly. The cylinder lockup is tight, with very little play. The trigger pull is a little stiff, with a small amount of creep. We did not fire this revolver.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: This revolver appears to be very close clone of Ruger Old Model Super Blackhawks that has to have its hammer at the half-cock position in order for the cylinder to spin freely. This revolver has a two position cylinder pin that functions as a safety to block the hammer when it is pushed in to its 2nd position. For more on this USA manufactured revolver, please see: “http://www.singleactions.com/VADragoons.pdf”. The stainless finish on this revolver is easy to maintain and its tight action signifies quality and good accuracy. It should be great for hunting everything from small game up to deer and also useful for Cowboy Action long range pistol side-matches like they have at Winter Range (although you might want to lighten the trigger pull a little).
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This single action revolver can be sold in California and transferred to a California resident as a private party transaction (PPT) at our shop in Simi Valley. All cartridge firing handguns (even C&R's and antiques) sold to a California resident must be DROS'd. This does not apply to out of state buyers.
