Our Assessment: The .44 Magnum is well-suited for game up to elk size. In addition to beating the ballistics of the old .44-40 rifle loads, long considered a top deer cartridge, the heavy, flat point bullets typically used in the .44 Magnum have an additional advantage: they aren’t as prone to deflection and bullet upset by contact in brush as are the thin jacketed, light bullets used in most high power rifles. However, because of bullet drop, you might need to keep your distances under 200 yards. If you are not a hunter, another use for this great looking rifle is in Cowboy Action Shooting.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle can be transferred in California.
