Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Ballester-Molina -- Argentine .45 British contract WWII OUTSTANDING

HAFDASA ~ BALLESTER-MOLINA~ Argentine .45 Auto...WWII BRITISH CONTRACT...C&R! This is an outstanding example of a HAFDASA "Ballester-Molina that was part of the British contract during WWII, with some references claiming that many of the pistols were used by the British Special Forces and the 8th Army. These pistols are marked with a "B-prefix" contract number on the right side of the frame. The actual serial number is stamped on the left side of the mainspring housing, the underside of the slide and on the lug of the barrel. All serial numbers match on this pistol. There are NO import markings. There are the appropriate British commercial proofs (applied when the pistols were released from the military for commercial sale) stamped on the right rear of the slide and frame as well as over the chamber of the barrel. The original commercial quality blue finish is outstanding with only a few minor exceptions, with a small area of minor pin-prick corrosion around the serial number on the frame and one or two other very small pin-prick spots that you have to look very hard to find. The rails on both the slide and frame show very minor wear, as does the barrel finish and the recoil plate of the slide. The bore rifling is sharp and clean, and along with other wear indicators, indicates that this pistol may have been shot, but not very much at all, and certainly not carried. The magazine is properly marked, with the feed lips showing virtually no wear, and only a minor mark on the follower. The smooth grips are in excellent condition, with only the right grip showing several handling marks. The mechanics appear to be in perfect working order. Overall, this pistol is very close to new mechanically, and cosmetically is not far behind. I have seen and owned a number of these over the years, and I have held on to this one because it was much nicer than any of the others, but also an outstanding example in its own right. Buyer pays actual shipping/insurance costs, to be calculated after end of auction. C & R eligible. Payment by USPS money order only. Contact must be made within 3 days of close of auction and payment within 10 days or item will be re-listed and negative feedback entered. Thanks for looking and good luck.
