Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed serrated ramp. The rear sight is the original S&W adjustable elevation and windage sight with sharp corners.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp if a bit shallow as is common for wadcutter barrels. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This upper retains about 96% of its metal finish. The only appreciable wear showing is on the rear sight which shows some edge wear and a little surface rust on its front side, and on the bushing which shows minor finish loss from the locking detent pin. There are mild scratches on the barrel visible through the ejection port. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this upper rates in about Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This is a real find. There is never just a model 52 upper available. This is the first complete upper like this we have come across and it shows very little finish loss of any kind. Here is an opportunity to upgrade your well used 52 or build a new gun from scratch.
