Our Assessment: This is a very clean S&W .44 Special with adjustable sights and the classic double action revolver profile that only comes with a shrouded ejector rod. The Model 624 was made only from 1985-1988 and if we remember correctly, largely after a campaign by Skeeter Skelton and his readers wanting S&W to bring back the .44 Special. This a very versatile revolver for shooters who are reloaders, with published loads for everything from light accurate target loads to serious self-defense loads. This example is in Excellent condition and needs to go to a good home where it will really be appreciated.
