Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 90% of its metal finish. The slide shows scratches and pinprick surface erosion around the front sight, and pinprick surface erosion on the left side, with deeper spots along the top edge and at the rear. The hammer and trigger also show pinprick surface erosion. The grip shows minor handling marks. The grip screws are not disfigured, but show erosion at the bottom of the slots. The markings are shallow but readable. Overall, this pistol rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with one blued magazine. It has very light wear and is in Fine condition.
Our Assessment: Per unblinkingeye.com, the Model GZ was originally made by MAB in France in 1957, but the license was sold to Echasa in 1962. They were intended to be a copy of the Walther PP, except in single action instead of double, and were available in .22, .25, .32 and .380 calibers. This pistol would be great for plinking, or concealed carry by someone who didn’t like the recoil of a larger caliber.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This pistol is NOT on the California “roster of handguns certified for sale” and can only be sold to a California resident as a private party transaction (PPT) at our shop in Simi Valley. This does not apply to out of state buyers.
