Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “56” Chinese mark, “0303” in a rectangle, then “20000825 P””. and “SKS 7.62x39 Made in China by Norinco KSI Pomona”. The back of the dust cover, the trigger guard, bolt , stock and the floorplate of the magazine are marked “000825”.

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with standard military sights; a protected front sight post and a rear sliding elevator.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are re-finished smooth military wood. There is some orange peeling, but there are no visible cracks or losses. There is discoloration on both sides of the buttstock, and a few dings the worst of which is on the left side above the magazine. The LOP measures approx. 12 5/8”. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no apparent erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few spots of finish loss on the dust cover and a little wear along the rails. The Screw heads are sharp and undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There is a sling and cleaning rod provided, but there is no bayonet.
Our Assessment: This was the standard military rifle of the Chinese army for nearly 20 years and remains in use in some remote areas today. This is a great plinking self defense rifle.
