This auction is for a S&W U.S. Army Model 1917 in .45 ACP with a 5 1/2" barrel. This model was also called the .45 Hand Ejector U.S. Service Model of 1917. This revolver still has its lanyard ring and the serial numbers on the grip, cylinder and barrel all match. The barrel is in good condition with some slight pitting in the bore, but good sharp rifling. The cylinder in very good in the chamber part of the cylinder, but is pitted in the front half of all the cylinders. This handgun has been reblued with a matte finish. As you can see in the pictures, there is some pitting on the frame, but the factory markings are still well defined. The timing on this handgun is very tight for its age. The grips are well worn and unknown if they are original. This is a great shooter and is still in very good working order. This auction can be purchased with a FFL or C&R.
