Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a dovetail front sight that is missing the blade. The rear sight is missing from its dovetail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece stocks are wood. The forearm has some chips missing near the screw that attaches the forearm to the barrel and also along the top edges on each side of the barrel. The butt stock has been broken and a repair has been attempted. (Please see our photos.) The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the butt stock which is missing its butt plate.. The stocks rate in about Poor overall condition.

Finish Originality: Refinished
Bore Condition: The bore is rough and the rifling is shallow. There is erosion present. The muzzle crown is largely good, except for a 1/8” spot of rust towards the top right outside edge.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 40% of its metal re-finish. The balance of the finish shows it has been re-blued and polished, perhaps by someone learning the process. The screw heads are distressed but serviceable. The markings are hard to read due to buffing after the refinish. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fair condition.
Mechanics: The action function correctly. We have not fired this rifle.

Our Assessment: This rifle could be restored, perhaps by relining the barrel and replacing the sights and butt stock. If this is the type of rifle your family had while you were growing up, that might be an enjoyable and rewarding project.
