Our Assessment: This S&W .38 Military & Police revolver is the successor to the Victory models made during WWII. When S&W changed to model numbers in 1957, this model became the Model 10. This is a classic fixed sight, 4” barrel .38 special S&W revolver, as carried by law enforcement for most of the 20th century. This revolver can protect your home as well as it protected the police. It is reliable, chambered for a cartridge that is easily available, and can be fired by almost anyone with reasonable hand strength, if not in double action, then in single action. If you’re looking for a basic revolver, this is it.
