Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.45 COLT”. The yoke cut is marked “CAL1750 / M625”. The yoke is marked “281”. There is a large S&W logo on the right sideplate and the four line “Marcas Registradas” address on the right side of the frame. The right side of the frame is marked “MOUNTAIN GUN”. br>
Barrel Length: 4” Tapered Light Contour
Sights / Optics: The revolver is mounted with a pinned black Patridge front sight. There is a micrometer click adjustable rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut K Frame Hand Ejector style with silver colored S&W logo medallions and a black Tyler T-grip. There are no chips or cracks in either grip panel. The left panel checkering is good, while the right panel checkering is worn towards the rear. The grips rate in about Very Good to Fine overall condition. These grips are not original to this revolver and were adapted by the previous owner.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling shallow with evidence of fouling in the forcing cone and down the barrel. There is no erosion evident. The muzzle crown is good.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are to small dings, one on the left above the cylinder release and the other on the right side of the frame centered forward of the cylinder. The serrated back strap is mildly distressed. Most of the other use marks should polish out. There are drag marks on the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp and clean. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly both single action and double action. There is a case colored checkered .400” semi-target hammer and .312” smooth combat trigger. We have not fired this revolver.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There is a blue S&W plastic box with matching end label provided. The bottom of the box is a little scuffed, but otherwise is in Excellent condition. Also provided is the product registration card, instruction manual and S&W handgun grips brochure.
Our Assessment: The S&W 625-6 Mountain Gun is largely distinguished by its tapered light contour barrel. It was designed to lessen the load for those who want to carry a .45 Colt double action in the field. With its adjustable sights this revolver can be sighted in for a wide variety of loads, from plinkers to bear stoppers. With its all stainless steel construction it is heavy enough to be controllable and light enough to carry for field conditions.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This revolver is not on the California “roster of certified for sale handguns”, and can only be transferred to a California resident as a private party transaction (PPT) at our shop in Simi Valley. This does not apply to out of state buyers.

USPS Insured shipping will cost $25.
Your item will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of good funds, usually the next day. You will receive an automatic notification with a tracking number upon shipment, to let you know that we have received funds. If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-5).
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. If you would like to be notified when we receive your payment, please obtain a tracking number from your carrier. We receive about 40 checks a day and do not have the staff required to email everyone when we receive checks.
Payment:
Full payment on non-layaway items is required within 14 days. We accept Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Cash and Personal Checks. No Credit Cards or electronic payments are accepted. To help us properly apply your payment, please indicate what item you have purchased when payment and/or FFL are sent. If you would like to be notified when we receive your payment, please obtain a tracking number from your carrier. We receive about 40 checks a day and do not have the staff required to email everyone when we receive checks.
CA Sales tax applies to CA buyers (7.25%).
Layaways are offered on all items, requiring a 20% non refundable down payment within 7 days of the auction’s close and the balance within 60 days. We do not require prior notice to place an item on the layaway. No returns are accepted on layaway items and the item will be considered abandoned after 60 days.
Successful Bidder Instructions:
You will be invoiced by the morning following the sale. This invoice will include totals for the sale and all instructions.
If you win an item and are not willing or able to complete the sale, you will be liable for 5% of the sale price.
Returns (less shipping) are accepted within 3 days of when the item is delivered with signature confirmation. Returns are very costly for both the buyer and for us, so please ask all of your questions before bidding and please be sure you can legally purchase this item.
