Stevens 87M .22LR Trainer Rifle
This is a rare Stevens 87M .22LR Trainer Semi-Auto Rifle. This type of rifle was used for training during WWII. It has a military style walnut stock and handguard, plastic trigger guard, sling swivels, checkered metal buttplate, 22” barrel with front and rear sight. The rifle does not have a serial number. There are no special markings visible, other than “SAFE” on the right side of the receiver.
The bore and rifling are shiny, crisp and in very good condition. The barrel and receiver have minor rust spots on the surface. There is rust on the buttplate, swivels, and other metal components. There are 1/4" chips on the pistol grip, left side of the butt, and near the toe of the butt. The stock and handguard have numerous scratches, small chips, and deep dents.
Overall, it is in good used condition. The rifle passed the safety check and test-fire. But the rifle has not been completely taken apart in order to inspect each individual piece. There may be some variations in the description due to this. Please check the photos below. Sold As-Is.
