Markings: The barrel are marked “”Browning Arms Company” on the left and “12 GA Shells 2 ¾”- Made in Balgium –Browning Patent”. The left side of the barrels at the breech is marked “47409S5”. The takedown lever is marked “47409S’. There are scattered other Belgian proofmarks. The bottom of the receiver is marked “Lightning / Browning”. Under the lever is found “47409 S5”.

Choke: The bores measure approx. .682” measured at the muzzle.
Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a full length wide rib (Broadway) that measures approx. .625”. There is a mid length small white bead and a larger bead at the muzzle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are beautifully figured and checkered finished wood. There is some surface crackling of the finish on both sides above the trigger. There are very few other marks or scratches. The checkering has become slightly smooth. The LOP measures approx. 14 ½” from the trigger to the back of the rubber “Browning” buttpad. The buttpad is soft and pliable. . The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are near mirror. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 85% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows wear on the high edges of the receiver, at the safety, and on the bottom of the receiver. The lower tang behind the trigger shows little finish but the metal is smooth. There are a few marks on the rib. The Screw heads are sharp and undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: There is a Browning leather gun case provided. The inside of this case is very clean with no tears or losses. The cushion felt is intact. There is a tiny spot of tattering on the inside leather at the end in the barrel compartment. This can be repaired with some glue and proper alignment of the barrels when replacing in the case. The exterior is a little dirty but free of tears. There are just a few minor handling marks. The case is in Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This is the trap wonder gun from the 60’s and 70’s and is still used in competition today. The folks that shoot Browadways will only shoot Broadways, and for good reason. This is the ultimate quality Belgian Superposed Browning made for competition shooting. This shotgun is in fine condition and is ready to take to the range right now! This is a shotgun to enjoy and pass down to future generations.
