Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - George Fisher -- Double Barreled 12 gauge Belgium made 1880s-90s

This item is a Geo Fisher side by side 12-gauge shotgun. It is in rough condition, and is being sold as is for either a parts gun but preferably with the potential for restoration to complete functionality. Please take a close and careful look at the pictures, and ask any questions you may have, I'll do my best to answer them.

The gunmaker George Fisher first appeared in the early 1800s, then again in the 1850s, and then again in the 1880s and 90s, this shotgun is assumed to be from the late 19th Century. It is of Belgium manufacture. The barrels are 30-inches long and are made of laminated steel. The action is the underlever type. There are a few screws and pins missing as can be seen in the pictures.

This gun would provide a wealth of parts, or it would make a very interesting wallhanger and conversation piece, or it could be restored with the following attemtion needed: the butt stock would need to be replaced or could be pinned and repaired; missing screws and pins installed with off-the-shelf or custom-made replacements;, and the left-side firing pin would need be repaired or replaced. Given a full restoration this shotgun could be made functional and operational, and could go afield using light loads, for instance: shells reloaded with black powder would make for fun bird hunting.

This firearm is of pre-1899 manufacture and is not subject to FFL transfer requirements and therefore is eligable to be sent directly to the buyer legally without any FFL transfer.
