    Q:  Hi, I was looking at your musket but cannot tell if it has a metal butt plate attached. Is there one there? Also, is the lock plated dated? Thanks, Rick 07/06/2012
        A:  No its orignal wood butt plate. I cant see a date anywhere thanks 07/06/2012

    Q:  Kent; This is an 1803 Harpers Ferry gun made by the first U.S. Arsenal at Harpers Ferry Va. Look for a name and date on the right side lock. If it has a 1803 date, it COULD POSSIBLY BE one of the guns that Lewis and Clark brought west on their 1803 exploration trip. 07/07/2012
