The grips rate in about Very good to Excellent overall condition.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 10% of its metal finish. There is a trace of nickel over the brass on the right side and still some nickel on the bottom of the grip frame. The flat sides of the trigger guard at the frame show some discoloration and black color which may be some remaining nickel finish. The remainder of the brass shows discoloration and mottling. There are trace remnants of color case hardening on the frame and on the rammer housing. The barrel shows mottled gray surfaces with some pitting all around at the muzzle, and light surface erosion on the top flat. There is pitting and erosion on the barrel assembly ahead of the cylinder, and scattered surface erosion on the frame. The cylinder scenes are visible except for their very centers, and even some of these are visible. There is a small amount of original blue by the wedge and the right side hinge screw. There is pitting on the outside of the bullet mould but the inside is very good. The two cavities are for a round balls and a conical bullet.

Our Assessment: This Manhattan revolver is rare and in good functioning condition with the matching Manhattan bullet mould. This revolver is a civil war era veteran and has stood the test of time well. We believe this revolver could be fired today. This is a collector find.
