Our Assessment: This pistol does not look like it has been fired very much. The S&W Model 422 was introduced in 1987, and there is a bill of sale for this gun dated 9/29/87, along with the shop tag. This pistol is in Excellent Plus condition with its entire useful service life still ahead of it. Designed with a fixed barrel set low in the frame, clearly it was intended to have minimal muzzle flip and to have target gun accuracy. Production ended in 1997, but you can still buy this one from the first year of production as “almost new”.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This pistol is not on the California “roster of certified for sale handguns”, and can only be transferred to a California resident as a private party transaction (PPT) at our shop in Simi Valley.
