Front BARREL END, for cut .69 Muskets, gun parts

NOTE- This is a cut-off BARREL END... NOT a whole musket... NOT a whole Barrel. Rare old original cut-off muzzle end of .69 -.72 caliber smoothbore BARREL, well suited for extending your cut-down muzzle loader back up to full original length. For smoothbore muskets, fowlers, + shotguns. Careful welding can do this. A step-joint is best in this case. Lathe-turn the ends to a tongue + groove configuration, so a little of one piece snug fits inside the other, + then weld the joint. The male end should be slightly longer than the female counterpart end. This leaves a thin groove around the joint you can carefully weld up. Or, a butt-joint weld if you are in a hurry. If so, fix it so it cannot be loaded. If for display only, you can avoid welding altogether, by butting up the 2 ends, + inserting a piece of tight fitting round wood dowel. Glue may be helpful here. If your barrel is a bit slender, + my front end is a bit wider, you can easily lathe, grind, or draw-file it down. Several available, from unknown long gone guns, long storage, from 6 to 20 inches in length. Specify about the length you need. All are smoothbores, none rifled. NO SIGHTS or bayonet lugs on any of them. Most look a tiny bit over exactly .69 caliber. Probably most likely .70-.72 cal. But will look good on your gun. A good joint + re- finish can make it look all original. I know, I did this kind of work years ago. Regretfully, I cannot now take in any new work. Rare item-very hard to find today. Rare outstanding opportunity if your long gun is cut back. Specify the shortest length you can use. Check, Mo to- MICHAEL BARNES . NO PAYPAL. No pics, but let my 4,000+ stoneman61 ebay Feedbacks speak for me. I used to sell these front barrel ends for 35.00 each, years ago. Start it LOW at 19.95. Add 9.95 S+H. NO RESERVE. USA ONLY.
