This is a used antique collectible non-cartridge-firing Blank starters/or/flare pistol. There is evidence of use and handling consistent with an antique. I know little about this gun’s past except that I was told by auction owner it was used as an 'alarm starter' pistol for races, etc. According to Internet history searches, it was made in Germany by (Walther) and fires only blanks and signal flares. I believe it to be 6mm size. Bakelite grips have no cracks. Blued metal is in good condition, no rust or corrosion. Some swirl scratches in finish but generally very nice. Bubble-domed magazine in working order. The Perfecta is an automatic magazine repeater. The blanks are loaded into the tubular magazine (you can see the domed follower) which is inserted into the grip. Pulling the trigger manually feeds, fires, and ejects the spent blank. Gas is exhausted through the circular vent atop the slide. Subsequent shots eject the blank through the rectangular port behind the vent. The "Ma Rie" mark on the grip is likely an abbreviation of Mayer & Riem. Under no circumstances should you attempt to chamber or fire a projectile bullet or center fire bullet cartridge. · MARKED: PERFECTA. D.B.P. Germany. · “Likely” Pre-WWII or shortly thereafter vintage · Pistol made by Mayer-Riem (Walther) for audible-alarm starter · NUMBERED: 0559 · 4-1/4" Long. · Automatic style: Fires blanks with bubble clip. Fires signal flares and tear gas. · Blue Metal frame with Brown Bakelite grips. · Action still seems to work, trigger functions normally · Safety activates as designed. · Includes one bubble-domed spring clip for blanks.
