The trigger is smooth and the hammer is finely checkered. There is a small ding at the outside edge of the muzzle crown, located between 6 and 7 o’clock. Overall, this revolver rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly both single and double action. We have not fired this revolver.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: The Colt Police Positive.38 was an improvement on the Colt New Police model. Chambered in .38 S&W, Colt apparently could not bring themselves to stamp “S&W” on the barrel as the cartridge designation. This example shows more wear on the finish than the grips, causing us to wonder if they are replacements. It is still in good mechanical condition to be a shooter, but is probably more interesting to the collector.
