Markings: The Top of the barrel is stamped, “Great Western II”, the left side of the barrel is stamped, “Singe Action .44/40.” The underside of the barrel is stamped, “FAP FLLPI Pietta – Made in Italy – EMF.” The underside of the frame is stamped with the serial number.

Sights / Optics: These revolvers are mounted with blade front sights and grooved top strap rear sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are faux ivory, well fitted to the frame. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel, cylinder, and grip frames are blue, the hammer and frame are nicely case-hardened.
Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bores are mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: These revolvers retain about 99% of their metal finish. There is a bit of a drag line on one segment of the cylinder of #E17578. The Screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, these revolvers rate in about Fine - Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The actions function smoothly and correctly; cylinders rotate and lock, and the triggers trip the hammers. Really, these lock up especially well. We have not fired these revolvers.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: These revolvers come in a Plano Gun Guard foam-lined, plastic, lockable case.
Our Assessment: The explosion of Cowboy Action Shooting has fueled the growth and quality of the Italian gunmaking community. These EMF Great Westerns are well suited to Cowboy Action shooting; they feature very smooth actions, light, crisp triggers, and exceptional lock-ups. The sights are a wider than usual front blade, with a wide rear notch, for easy sight acquisition. The grips are attractive and well fitted – really, these are terrific revolvers, and in like new condition. The .44-40 chambering is an historically honest, and hard-hitting caliber, with ammunition supplies abundant, due to the popularity of this exciting and enjoyable sport. These will look great in the holster of an Old West Aficionado, historical re-enactor, Cowboy Action Shooter, or anyone who enjoys the elegant balance and style of the Colt Peacemaker.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: These pistols can be transferred in California. Remember the One-A-Month California handgun rule. This does not apply to out of state buyers.
Shipping:
USPS Insured shipping will cost $30.
Your item will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of good funds, usually the next day. You will receive an automatic notification with a tracking number upon shipment, to let you know that we have received funds. If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-5).
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. If you would like to be notified when we receive your payment, please obtain a tracking number from your carrier. We receive about 40 checks a day and do not have the staff required to email everyone when we receive checks.
Payment:
Full payment on non-layaway items is required within 14 days. We accept Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, Cash and Personal Checks. No Credit Cards or electronic payments are accepted. To help us properly apply your payment, please indicate what item you have purchased when payment and/or FFL are sent. If you would like to be notified when we receive your payment, please obtain a tracking number from your carrier. We receive about 40 checks a day and do not have the staff required to email everyone when we receive checks.
CA Sales tax applies to CA buyers (7.25%).
Layaways are offered on all items, requiring a 20% non refundable down payment within 7 days of the auction’s close and the balance within 60 days. We do not require prior notice to place an item on the layaway. No returns are accepted on layaway items and the item will be considered abandoned after 60 days.
Successful Bidder Instructions:
You will be invoiced by the morning following the sale. This invoice will include totals for the sale and all instructions.
If you win an item and are not willing or able to complete the sale, you will be liable for 5% of the sale price.
Returns (less shipping) are accepted within 3 days of when the item is delivered with signature confirmation. Returns are very costly for both the buyer and for us, so please ask all of your questions before bidding and please be sure you can legally purchase this item.
