Up for auction is a 6.5x55 mod 96 carbine. I tryed to talk the owner out of the gun before he sporterized it with no luck. so its been drilled tapped for a scope. but it would not clear the bolt handle with out changeing it. but any way its drilled and taped its has a new stock and it shoots very well for a rifle made in 1904. the rifleing is super strong and the chamber is smooth. very clean over all I shot this and its a shooter, put fill plugs in and put it back in a mill stock and shoot it at a WWII event a c&r ffl is ok for this gun

I son't know if a message I was composing got sent before fisnished or not, so here goes again! Do the serial numbers match on the bolt and receiver? Waht is teh rae of twist? You time is appreciated.

the sir# all match but numbers are only on bolt,receaver.
Trigger gard,rear sight,and bolt stop are all simbled.
The rate of twist is 9.5 as all 6.5 and 7mm were. inless they were snipers then they were 8. this peace wont disapoint you eather shoot it asis or restore it back to full military,. i can lead you to a good restorer if needed.
