Rifle offered is a Winchester Commemorative “1866-1966 A Century of Leadership” Saddle Ring Carbine and is from an Estate. Winchester created these to commemorate their one hundredth anniversary of Operations. These rifles were offered in 20” and 26” configuration with gold plated receiver, inside and out along with a plated forend cap, brass curved buttplate, saddle ring and octagon barrel-all reminiscent of the venerable 1866 Yellow Boy which was, of course, Winchester’s first offering.
The piece is obviously done in 30-30 and is in great condition with one exception-there is/are some small spots which had almost gone to corrosion which I have tried to photograph. They lay upon the magazine tune and the left underside of the barrel. Fortunately, the rifle saw daylight before it had an opportunity to really take hold. Having said that, the piece is in really great condition retaining the original factory bluing.
It is unfired and, as a result, one would have to assume it is in “Factory New” mechanical condition. The walnut stock is heavily burled and retains the factory finish.
Darn nice rifle.
Please ask any questions you might have and I will respond as best I am able.
