Okay, before I describe the gun I'll say that in my opinion, the 1969 classic, "THE WILD BUNCH" is the greatest western ever made. As you can see in the thumb nail, the WINCHESTER 97 pump gun played a major role in the movie. You are bidding on a classic WINCHESTER MODEL 1897, 12 gauge pump action shotgun with a 20 inch barrel. The barrel has been shortened at some time. This is a very early, third year production gun, in the 37xxx serial number range, made in 1899. This a solid frame model and does not have a disconnector, so you can hold back the trigger and it will fire as fast as you can pump it. The gun has great eye appeal, with smooth metal and a pleasant mix of blue and patina. The action works fine and the bore is nice. All markings are sharp and clear. The wood is all original, never cut or sanded and is solid, with a minor crack as shown. Why buy one cheap Chinese copies when you can have the real thing?? As William Holden said in the movie, "If they move, kill'em" I'll need the buyer to provide a signed FFL or C&R and include $35 Priority shipping. NO RESERVE!!!
