Type of Finish: The frame and cap are case colored, the lever, buttplate and magazine tube are blue.
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The rifling is sharp and deep though showing some fouling from the factory test round. Our consignor was the original owner of this gun and claims to have never fired it. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 99.9% of its metal finish. The lever and base of the receiver show slight internal wear from operating the action, but again, our consignor says this is an unfired rifle. This is truly a New Rifle. If you watch our auction, you understand that we RARELY call a gun New. The screw heads are sharp & unturned. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about ANIB condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.
Box & Accessories: The original box is included with this gun. The box shows light tatters, losses and a few light creases, but is otherwise sound and complete. No paperwork is included, just the box.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful Model 94 in a great caliber and from one of the best Commemorative production runs of all time. Few commemoratives have ever truly sparked the interest of the collecting world as has the Crazy Horse Commemorative, with its Native American - frontier style embellishments. Perhaps the only more desirable would be the John Wayne Commemorative. This auction is a complete ensemble, with the rifle and box and is the only way you will find a set up like this shy of a time machine back 29 years to 1983. This rifle is more obtainable than the time machine, we promise.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle can be transferred in California, and is C&R eligible.
