This is categorized strangely, since it is a PHOTO COLLECTION and an ARCHIVE of my work...and there's no real category in here for anything close to that.
This is all my research and publications transparencies, what prints remain, and some electronic files. You can view a lot of these at low resolution on flickr.com, where I am jimthompson502002. World class reproduction quality. I did commercial and publications photo work and serious research writing in firearms, aviation, military historical, and advertising fields for several decades. Yes, I own all rights, and yes, I took the photos. Very eclectic file, special emphasis on fully automatic and selective fire weapons. Specimens back to the 1840's, though...with emphasis on the classics. This is over forty years of work.... I will approximate a quantity and add photos to this "auction" almost daily until or unless this sells. The current grouping weighs 33 POUNDS...I think it's about 7500 images. No quantities of color print unusable trash, the main body of color is rich transparencies designed for publication. Negs are included, some electronic files on CD. No low definition electronic crap. Yes, I have to my credit hundreds of published firearms articles, 3 current books, lots of other published material. I did REAL research, instead of regurgitating hogwash rumors from the publicists and flim-flam artists of the past, which by the way, is EXTREMELY controversial and makes a lot of enemies. So be it! If no further claims eventuate on them, I will include what remains of my automotive and aviation files at NO CHARGE. You'll notice some "water marks" from "that other site" on some of these. I moved the auction from there...and NO, those are NOT on the negatives, transparencies, or prints, or anything else. I'll weed out and supplement photos as time goes by. The photos themselves will be release in perpetuity to their new owner. All I ask is that my name be used when/if possible and they are published, and if you use the "buy it now" figure, I'll include the plenty of bonus items. Some was done for magazine research, some for my books, some for the three book set which was shut down in 2004 and again in 2012... So much for work "on speculation"!!! Took me three and half years to finish that research just for the set and accompanying photography!!! See the very few photos shown here below, but of course, I can't put any significant percentage of them in here, and what little bits and pieces are here are not at ten per cent of available resolution. Lots of 35mm., some 2 1/4x2 1/4", some 6x9 cm., some are as large as 4x5" and 5x7" sheet film original Ektachrome and AgfaChrome professional transparencies. These are at about 1/2 of one percent of available definition/resolution. I will assign rights, formally. No PayPal, and no credit cards. Note: Until something goes wrong again, I'll accept checks on major items, but ONLY with the customary ten working day delay for clearance. Don't send me faxes. I don't even own a fax machine any more. They're obsolete.
