Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are one piece varnished wood. There are a few scattered depressions, though few are through the finish. The underside of the wood forward of the loading area shows a ¼” ding. The LOP measures approx. 13 ½” from the trigger to the back of the metal butt plate. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition. The heel of the butt plate has a hole drilled, though we do not know why.

Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, though just a bit fouled. The rifling is clear and pronounced. There is no pitting or erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% plus of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a few surface marks on the barrel, likely just from storage. The underside of the action shows some finish loss from loading the rifle. The top of the frame also shows some scattered marking, though the metal is sharp throughout with only light handling and storage wear. The Screw heads are very good, many are unturned. The markings are crisp. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None
Our Assessment: This is the classic Ruger .44 Mag. Carbine, long out of production and even longer loved by gun owning America. This carbine is sharp, hard to find and as practical as you could wish for. This gun will make a perfect hunting companion, in any field environment and has the power to stop any threat yet is light enough to reasonably carry in the field. We have always wondered why Ruger stopped making these, but until they start production again, you better buy this one.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle can be transferred in California.
