Fine U.S. Model 1917 Trench “Knuckleduster” Knife

Offered herein is a very fine

collectible U.S. WWI trench knife made by A.C.Co.

and stamped 1917 on inside of ribbed grip with

“USA” as well. Called the “Knuckleduster” this Trench knife is a combined combat knife designed to kill or gravely incapacitate an enemy soldier at close

quarters, as might be encountered in a trenchline or other confined area.] It was developed in response to a need for a close combat weapon for soldiers conducting assaults and raids on enemy trenchlines during the First World War. This knife is

in very good-fine condition with no rust or pitting. The 8.5” blade as a bit of “rounding at point and may have been slightly sharpened. The wood grip is sound with no cracks, markings are sharp and blade otherwise a smooth gray patina. Does not have
