Seller's Description

1 Colt Marked 1911A1 Box

This is a box. It is a very fine box, one that will fit a 1911A1 quite handily.

Ol' Bob next door believes the Colts of the 1950's and even early 1960's were the finest ever made and represent the pinnacle of Hartford achievement. While I liked Ike too, I tell him that the last "real" Colt 1911A1 was made sometime around the time we stopped bombing the Japanese and brought them food and medicines instead. If it wasn't built to storm ashore and rough them up a little on dry land after all their ships were properly sunk, it's just a knock-off, though perhaps a nice one at that.

Copper, Bob's Treeing Walker, gets along with everybody and is just happy to just say "Hello". What we do agree on is Ike was one of the finest men to ever leave the farm and selflessly serve this Country and that this box wasn't made anywhere near the time of any of his service. But it is a very nice box, and would look good (I suppose) with one of those sharp pistols that Colt is having to make these days for over the counter sales instead of for going Over the Top now that Uncle Sam bought up a bunch of spaghetti P.38 knockoffs just to get along with with the NATO Boys. It looks good though and is well made, so if you could use a box like this for arguably one of the finest pistols in the world, you got it!
