WARNING AND DISCLAIMER: FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, THERE IS NO!!! REPEAT NO!!! MODERN AMMUNITION THAT IS SAFE TO SHOOT IN THIS RIFLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY GOOD PICTURES TO COMPARE THIS GUN TO. This is pic heavy, and, never having seen one of these before, I'll do my best with description. It is 31 1/2" overall. The barrel is 10" but the gun has specifically been removed from NFA regulations. (I have that URL if anybody is interested.)
The gun is as found. I have not done anything to clean, lubricate, etc. It is well scaled, but everything is tight and solid. It is in excellent mechanical condition (not much to go wrong). It cocks and "fires". There is no safety. The firing pin probably sets some kind of record, because it is 10" long. The rear "peep" sight is in very good condition. (When you first handle this gun, you tend to think of it as a hammer and try to "cock" it.) From my observation there are 2 "replacement" parts, the silver knurled nut at the barrel end of the bottom frame member, and the wire nail (brad) through the knurled cocking flange. Just under the firing pin "bolt" face there is, what seems to be, a detent ball. It is recessed in the hole and does not act to "click" the barrel flange into place. There is a recess for it on that flange. The bore is dark, with faint rifling showing. Because this was not made prior to 1898, it is not an Antique. It is eligible as a C&R. Out of state it must go to a C&R or FFL. Can ship direct to you in Michigan. UPS Insured shipping is $20 to the lower 48. Actual cost to other USA locations. USPSMO or Certified funds.
