Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Dakota Arms, Inc. -- Model 76 .416 Rigby

Rifle offered is a mint condition “as new” Dakota African with an “R” series serial number which is done in .416 Rigby from Dakota Arms in Sturgis, South Dakota. The Dakota is a handmade custom rifle using the Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 African as the template. This rifle was purchased new in the box directly from Dakota in 2005 and has had three cartridges fired through it-total. The original factory bluing isn’t even worn off the bolt body. It is in incredible pristine condition and is completely devoid of any abuse. The wood on this rifle is really something. The photos do not do it justice. It retains all of the original factory finish. Capacity of this bog bore thumper is four cartridges. The .416 is best suited for a 400 gr bullet. The 26” barrel is equipped with a muzzle brake and is mirror bright. The quick detachable 1” scope rings are from the Dakota custom shop and are original equipment. There has never been a scope mounted on the rifle. The rifle comes with a three position safety which allows the bolt to be functioned and still be in a mechanical safe condition. The original factory papers are included. The original box is not available. This rifle, if priced from Dakota using their current price sheet sells for $7995.00. It is a splendid piece for thick skinned slow moving African game or simply turning heads when on the range. Having said all that, this rifle is literally as written. I know the guy who purchased it originally and he never did anything much with it at all. Darn nice rifle. Please ask any questions you might have and I will respond as best I am able. If you want something else photographed let me know and I will see if I am smart enough to get it done for you.

Payment and Shipping Instructions:

Weapon is to be transferred through an FFL holder. Winner pays only the actual shipping fees as I am not into making money using the “Flat Rate” thing. Once I learn the shipping information I will create an estimate + a few bucks to be certain. Once the weapon is shipped I will return any unused funds by next day mail and email scanned copies of the shipping documents to the winner. I greatly prefer to use the Post Office as they won’t simply drop the package of on the doorstep and leave it. In addition, they are often times less expensive than FedEx and UPS. Having made that point, I will use any express service the winner prefers. Personal checks are absolutely welcome as long as the winner understands I will have to withhold shipping until certain the check has cleared. Certified checks/money orders get next day service.
