U.S. Model 1842 Pistol - marked H. Aston & Co., .54 cal., dated 1851 (only 6,000 so dated). Excellent markings on lock plate and inspector markings with 1851 date on the bbl. Inspectors stamp also visible twice on left side of stock. Light coat of old revarnish on wood but it looks very good. Wood also has a few minor nicks & dings with one crack on left side of stock, originating at a screw and traveling down to front of trigger guard. Action is tight. All parts appear original and work well. This particular model found great favor with the 5th TX Calvary during the Civil War years. FFL required.
