Winchester Model 1894 mfg 1930 serial # 1079913, depression era gun,finish thin turning to brown patina, stock shows wear in the field, according to George Madis' winchester date of manufacture only 4,657 manufactured, there are 13 notches on the right side of the forearm, somebody was counting something. 30 WCF

    Q:  Jesse, that is such a nice looking carbine. The receiver colors are splendid, because of the nickle in the metal. I wish I could buy it, but may have to wait a spell. Tom43 04/30/2012
        A:  Tom, Yes it is a nice gun. Unfortunately, Winchester could not get the bluing right when they went to the nickles steel. That is why 1941 I have for sale is special. From what I can gather the W means either factory rebluing due to flaking or it designates a new bluing process that began in mid 1939 and went to early 1941. I tend to believe the latter.
