Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Beretta Model 70 New Puma -- .32 ACP Semi-Auto Pistol

LSB#: 120110WB01

Make: Beretta

Model: Model 70

Serial Number: A33521

Year of Manufacture: Modern

Caliber: 7.65mm/.32 ACP.

Action Type: Semi-Auto Single Action Pistol

Markings: The left side of the frame is stamped “Pietro Beretta Gardone V.T. Cal. 7.65”. The right side of the slide is marked, “Mod. 70 – Made In Italy.” The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number, “A33521”, and “SMONTAGGIO” on the takedown lever. The grip panels are marked “Beretta” and “New Puma”.

Barrel Length: 3 ½”.

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a blade front sight, with a dovetail set windage-adjustable rear sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are brown checkered plastic marked Beretta, showing only light handling wear. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blue

Finish Originality: Factory Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This gun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The finish shows more aging that wear; there are a couple of tiny nicks on the right side of the frame; these should just barely be visible in the photos. There is edge wear at the high points and general light handling wear. The Screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, the trigger operates the hammer, and the slide retracts normally. We have not fired this gun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: This is a sweet little pistol! Ergonomically, Berettas are very good, and this one is no exception. This one has the pre-1968 cross bolt safety. It fits the hand nicely, and the single action trigger is crisp and light. Ultimately, the manufacturing machinery made its way to Iraq, where it continued in production as the “Tariq” pistol. Whether for the collector, the shooter, a Simon Templar “Saint” aficionado, or just someone who likes firearms from the golden age of gun making, this will be a fine purchase.

CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This pistol is not on the CA “Roster of Certified for Sale Handguns” and is NOT available for a Private Party Transfer. It can only be sold to an out of state buyer.

Questions for Users
(Public)
Q:  Hello, Is this beretta 32 a steel version? or the alloy version? Alloy Berettas weigh .520 kg ( 1 lb 2 1/25 ounce), with an empty magazine. Steel berettas weight .660 kg ( 1 lb 7 1/4 ounces) with the empty magazine. I believe that the slide, barrel, magazine, hammer, are steel on both guns and can be tested with a magnet. However, the alloy Beretta has an alloy frame. Therefore, a magnet will not stick to the frame/trigger guard of the alloy Beretta (even though of course a magnet will stick to the barrel and slide of all Beretta 70 since the barrels and slides of all Beretta are made of steel. Thanks, cheyenne 03/08/2012
A:  Thank you for your question the frame is alloy. Thanks. Lew. 03/09/2012
