MAKE REASONABLE OFFER !
This is a RARE 1857 Dreyse Needle fire Carbine. Unit marked on the buttplate for the 9th Hussars Regiment.
Carbine is in Great Condition for this model. All 1857 Needle fire Carbines when found are usually beat to #ell ! This example as you can see in the photo's is far above average. Lots of German Military proofs, and Prussian Eagles.
Bore is pretty good, of course some scattered pitting, and darkness, but strong rifling. Wood has 3 or 4 hairline cracks which at least two have glue repairs. Someone good with wood can make all of these disappear. Serial numbers match. Bolt innards have all been replaced with contemporary parts. Action works good, but a little rough. Of course needle is intact.
This is a great example and very eye appealing for the Collector ! Quite Rare, and Quite Reasonable. If you do not agree, make reasonable offer as Christmas is approaching. Shipping $30.
