This beautiful Limited Edition colored lithograph was produced by the well known Catalonian (Spanish) artist Jose Pepe' Puig Marti in the early 1970s. He was also known as "Pepe'", and most of his works are signed with this name, as this one is. This lithograph is entitled in Spanish "La Luz de la Luna", which translates into "The Light of the Moon". This fine original lithograph depicts a gorgeous sylvan nighttime scene with a full moon hanging overhead above a meadow, contrasting bright moonlight with deep blue shadows. Two spotted fawns are approaching a waterhole in the meadow as the full moon shines down upon them, basking them in a golden spotlight and accenting the spots on their backs. The many shades of blue and the somewhat fanciful portrayal of the fawns give this scene a dreamlike quality, as if seen through the eyes of a child. The fantasy shapes of the fawns give this surrealistic scene a feeling of joy and exuberance, such as that found only in the very young, animal or human. This is a lovely, lovely print! This print would make a superb present for that "significant other" in your life who is a true lover of Mother Nature. This print has an original signature (Pepe') in the lower right corner, and is individually numbered (178/225) 178 in a series of 225 in the lower left corner, which makes it a very Limited Edition print, as most editions of prints are for 500 or more. The external frame dimensions are 19" X 25". The internal print dimensions are 13 1/2" X 19". The print is glass covered, and is in Excellent condition, with an Excellent frame. I obtained this print in 1972 from the Collectors Guild Society, which offered the works of many famous as well as less well known artists to the general public at very moderate prices in order to stimulate interest and knowledge in the fine arts. Attached to the back of this print is a Certificate of Authenticity from the Collectors Guild Society indicating that this is indeed an original lithograph from the works of this fine artist. This gorgeous print has undoubtedly increased considerably in value over the years. My opening bid price for such a high quality and visually touching work of art is very low indeed! $25.00 S&H and insurance. Bank check, money order or personal check.
