2011 Auction Arms

Serving You ~ Our Customer ~ Since 1997!

~Auction Description~

We offer you a Pre-64 Winchester model 70 bolt action rifle. The rifle is chamber in "300 H&H" 300 Holland & Holland. The 26" barrel has an excellent bore. The front sight is still on the rifle and there is a Redfield sight blank in the rear sight dovetail. The bluing on the barrel shows a few small wear spots. The bottom is marked 300M - 50. The serial number 182131 shows the rifle manufactured in 1951. So the rifle is correct and original with the matching number on the bolt. The receiver has no modifications, no hidden side mount holes filled in, just the way it left the factory. And the finish is excellent. The stock shows use and wear from a long Elk hunting career. The rifle has taken over 30 Bull Elk by the pictures the old boy showed us. He retired his hunting around 15 years ago. And the gun has just been sitting. So you might want to give her a good cleaning. The stock is solid with no issues. The checkering panels are very fine to excellent. Most of the wear is in the finish flaking off. And it wears the original butt plate, no PAD has been added and removed. The barrel channel has not been modified. The stock is an original 300 H&H stock. And there has been no bedding done also. The only thing I can see is the sling swivels have been changed at some time. And yes, we did check the chamber and it has not been taken out to 300 Weatherby. It is still 300 H&H. A very nice example of a true classic rifle chambered in a very classic caliber. And this was factory drilled and tapped front and rear!

Shipping is in a new hard case and a UPS approved outer box and fully insured to your FFL is $40.00.

***PLEASE NOTE***
If the markings appear white. That is so you can see them more clearly. It is not paint and wipes of easily!
