Our Assessment: The 1860 Army revolver, in the powerful .44 caliber chambering was the primary sidearm of the Union during the Civil War, and was highly regarded for its reliability, ease of use, and hard-hitting power. It is an elegant and graceful pistol, which handles and points very naturally, which ensures its popularity among Civil War aficionados, historical re-enactors, and Cowboy Action Shooters, as well. This one has received some attention with a buffer, which makes it seem antique, as any original would appear. The screws in the frame are prominent for a detachable buttstock, and the grip frame contains the corresponding notch on the bottom of the grip. This is an historically significant revolver, and should appeal to fans of the Old West, Civil War re-enactors, plinkers, and Cowboy Action Shooters alike!
