Therefore, production of rifles in 1939 and 1940 was only slightly higher than through the Depression years of the 1930's. In addition, a large percentage of pre-war Ishapore production was lost with the surrender of Singapore in 1942 (nearly 300,000 rifles). Therefore, 1940 Ishapore rifles are rather scarce. This piece is 80%+ overall finish - blue not paint. Bore is Exce;;emt - very sharp and shiny and easily passes the bullet test for muzzle erosion. Wood is overall VG with storage scuffs, but no chips or cracks. All matching: bolt, barrel, receiver, rear sight, nosecap, and forestock. NOTICE: NOT IMPORT MARKED. C&R ELIGIBLE.
