Batavia Leader 12 ga. Side by Side Damascus hammerless shotgun, extractors. It’s 8.5 out of 10 rating. All original, no rust, all patina, some case coloring on action. Action is tight. Bores are shiny with hardly any pitting. Barrels are 30 inches, left bore is 0.692; right is 0.706. S/N is 891xx. I’ve had it for some 20 years using it to shoot dove and quail. I use low base 2 ¾” smokeless target and hand loaded black powder loads (NOTE: plastic shot wads over black powder will leave melted plastic in the barrels). I’ve owned a dozen Damascus side by side and my experience is that major brand Damascus shotguns are safe to shoot with smokeless loads. This shotgun is a major brand.
