for your consideration, an extremely rare, high condition "carbine" model. This very early DOM gun is s/n#138xx and built in 1938. The carbine was a very limited production model(only 10 yrs)and was discontinued in 1947 so this is one of the earliest guns built. Some say there could be less than a couple hundred long tangs built, but records are not available as I understand. I believe it would be difficult to improve on this gun in this configuration. Its the nicest Ive actually seen in the last 5 or 6 years, but again, I have not seen them all. I think the gun rates 96 to 97% overall. 99% on the forearm with only a small nick on the bottom. 95 to 96% on the buttstock with some small nicks and scratches and a small spot, 1/2 by 3/4 inch of varnish wear at the toe of the stock. 97 to 98% blue on barrel and 95 to 96% on receiver. The butt plate is grey. Screw heads are excellent except the loading gate screw shows slight wear. Bore is excellent.Buyer should supply FFL info to seller within 10 days of auction closing. I am not an FFL holder so please make sure yours will accept the shipment from me. If not please let me know prior to the auction close so I can arrange to have an FFL holder on my end. There would be an additional fee of what he charges me. Prefer POSTAL MONEY ORDERS. Please contact SELLER within 5 days of closing and funds should be in SELLERS hands within 12 days of close in order preserve the BUYERS rights to buy. The auction is a binding contract between BUYER and SELLER. I HAVE 50 MORE EXCELLENT LA WINCHESTERS I AM SELLING SO PLEASE STAY WITH ME ON AA OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
