You are bidding on a beautiful and un-monkeyed-with Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle complete with it's original cleaning rod! This gun is fresh out of a safe having been in long term storage. My consignor has owned this a for a long time but is finally going to part with it. This is one of the nicest trapdoors I have ever had here. Beautiful case colors that look much even nicer in person. The bluing is also quite nice, probably 90% with only some light edge wear and a little freckling in spots. Barrel is 32 1/2 inches. The bore is nice and bright with no pitting and strong lands. The wood has a really nice look to it as well with with strong cartouches, (1889) on left side. There are a few little dents and dings is to be expected in a gun over 100 years old but no serious marks. Original US marked buttplate is probably more like 70% original blue with flaked loss on the bottom and top high points. Exc. tight mechanics. SN 297134. This is an investment grade Springfield. See pics and ask questions. I ALWAYS COMBINE SHIPMENT ORDERS IF YOU SEE SOMETHING ELSE YOU LIKE IN MY OTHER AUCTIONS.
